The Jac+Jack spring collection arrives, reminding us that warmer days are on the way.
We can almost feel the warmer days dawning with the arrival of the Jac+Jack spring collection in-store as of the July 1. Designers Jac Hunt and Pat Blue of Jac+Jack drew on a Mediterranean vacation for inspiration for the collection. The relaxed, natural silhouettes pay homage to the work of photographers Louise Dahl Wolfe and Slim Aarons, spun in pastel candy shades and conjuring up images of warm, sun-soaked days lounging by a villa with an aperitif in hand or traipsing the quaint seaside towns of Portofino and Capri by scooter.
Renowned for their dedication to luxurious knitwear, the label has expanded its repertoire of raw fabrics this season, with poplin cotton, crepe and chiffon silks offsetting their pastel cashmere sweaters with black ribbing, easily matched with a darker wardrobe. Melbourne-based print designer Lisa Carroll has also woven in graphics inspired by Rome fashion houses including Trussardi and Pucci.
The menswear collection follows a similar aesthetic, with a focus on the core pieces from their existing range, but also introducing Egyptian cotton and washed linen as relaxed option and expanding the staple shirting to include denim and lighter shades, with an offering of muted tones as well.
Never one to overcomplicate things, Blue has also included new chino trousers and shorts woven in bamboo twill to complete the aesthetic, which would look just as at home on a Mediterranean holiday as on the city streets.
