The Huffington Post: Bottle & Bine NYC
Globally inspired American cuisine with a focus on locally sourced food is the ethos behind new Midtown East restaurant, Bottle & Bine. “We want to celebrate local ingredients and producers, but keep in mind the global influences that define Americana food and drink”, says Executive Chef Angie Berry. Here, you’ll find a mixture of textures and unexpected ingredients, such as a seared and butter-poached Atlantic halibut served with savoury butternut squash and celeriac dressed with soy vinaigrette. We enjoyed the best of all worlds with the seasonal five-course tasting menu, where you can enjoy gastronomic delights such as foie gras biscuit with duck confit scramble, and lobster roll with avocado and sprouts.
The bi-level restaurant features a bar on each level, and with its ambient lighting and strategically placed cozy seating, makes you feel as if you are dining in a wine cellar. Dark wallpaper with vines and grapes adorn the walls, with Edison bulbs dangled along the bar area. This is not surprising, considering the 16 draft lines on daily rotation, and an impressive wine menu, which pays homage to homegrown viticulture. Best of all, Bottle & Bine is run by three girl bosses - Angie Berry, alongside renowned sommelier Gina Goyete, and beer director Carolyn Pincus. Who run the world?
